Influencer Spencer Barbosa has shared her thoughts on Instagram about beauty filters on social media. The 21-year-old Canadian said that filters are affecting her “mental health.”
Spencer shared her thoughts with over 2 million followers. In one of the images, she is using filters, while in the other, she shows her real face.
“My life completely changed the day I decided to stop using filters”, she wrote. “I didn’t realize that using TikTok’s beauty filters was destroying my mental health”, Spencer revealed.
Spencer’s followers showed support for her confession. “You’ve made the internet a safer place”, said one. “I don’t use filters because I think they give a harmful image of oneself and others”, said another.
